Associated Medical Practice is the old-est established private medical facility with well equipped offices on Leeward Highway. Several British and Canadian trained doctors and an emergency room physician staff the clinic as well as a con-sultant gynecologist, optometrist, chiro-practor and a dentist. The recompression chamber is located at this clinic and a well stocked pharmacy. Grace Bay Medical Centre is located in the heart of Grace Bay at Neptune Plaza. The centre is fully equipped with state of the art ultrasound capabilities and essential x-ray services. On staff are a chiropractor, British and Canadian doctors with exten-sive years of experience and there is a well stocked pharmacy. When on vacation, it is always a good idea to pack any medications you require. However there are now several pharmacies on Providenciales, and between them you are likely to find all your vitamins and any medications prescribed by doctors here. If you need special medications, find out in advance if they're available on-island. PRIVATE SCHOOLS There are several private primary schools on Providenciales offering classes for pre-school through grade six students. The cur-riculum varies from British National to Caribbean. The British West Indies Collegiate is the only private secondary school on Providenciales with a current enrollment of over 185 students offering classes from year 6 up. French and Spanish language is taught from a young age. Favourite sports include swimming, dance, gymnastics, basketball, soccer and hockey -hockey on roller-blades that is! Computer classes, art and music are stressed. After school clubs are popular with teachers sharing their expertise in fun activities or homework clubs.
