FroM loCal sPeCIalITIes To WorlDly Fare, The sPeCTruM of flavours on the island is extensive and delicious. For local dishes, the must-try hotlist is predominantly seafood: lobster, conch, snapper, grouper, wahoo and mahi-mahi. Dishes like jerk chicken and curried goat give tasty alternatives for the discerning meat lover. local dishes are served many different ways, including curried, grilled, jerked and blackened as well as cracked, in a chowder, or as fritters (usually conch fritters). For a bit of culinary action from overseas, international cuisine includes Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Thai and French, to name a few.

Vegan or vegetarian? Choose from a well-crafted selection of specialist dishes offering variety and flavour, including black bean soup, pumpkin ravioli, vegetable tarts, red bean stew, curried tofu and quinoa burgers. For our winter restaurant reviews, we head to highly acclaimed fine dining restaurant Coco Bistro (page 106). They say a picture’s worth a thousand words and we’re confident our photo essay will have you sold before you can say the words, “May I make a reservation?” Then on to Pelican Bay (page 124), this chic, yet casual restaurant at Royal West Indies Resort, showcases the Wednesday night lobster extravaganza and delectable flavours of the TCI’s local fare.
